Prayer

At Tree of Life we teach people to pray expectantly and how to be sensitive to the leadings and promptings of the Holy Spirit. Prayer becomes a regular part of our lives as we seek to regularly discern the ways of God and to commune with him as our loving Father and Lord. Prayer also shapes us as a family of faith binding us together in common concern, care, and mission. Prayer ministry, spiritual direction, and prayer meetings thus become a normal expression of our life together.

We have several ways of growing in the life of prayer:

Prayer Team

On Sunday mornings our prayer team serves during communion by praying for anyone who expresses a need. We have seen people experience healing, comfort, direction, and the Lord’s presence during these times of payer. All prayer requests are handled with great care and confidentiality. We encourage you to share your requests with our team on Sunday mornings. You can also serve on the team by contacting our team leader listed below.

Tuesday Night Zoom Prayer

Every Tuesday night we hold a prayer meeting on zoom. We pray for one another, the church, and any other concerns we may have. Our prayer and sharing usually lasts about 35-40 minutes. We send out the link for prayer in our newsletter each week. All are welcome. Want to join us? Sign up for our newsletter by signing up here! Do you have a request? Send it to us now by filling out our request form and we will be sure to pray for you this Tuesday.

The Book of Common Prayer

Every Sunday we offer take home prayer/devotions and journals to guide you on your prayer journey. These devotions are based on the patterns of prayer found in the Book of Common Prayer.

For a more detailed version we recommend the Daily Office which can be accessed here or followed by purchasing a hard copy of the Book of Common Prayer which can be purchased here or on amazon. We also offer a Field Guide to Daily Prayer in our Visitors Welcome Packet. Extra Field Guide to Daily Prayer can be purchased.

LifeGroups

We encourage everyone to join a Tree of Life LifeGroup. This is one of the primary ways we connect with other Christians and share our faith, common struggles, and opportunities, so that we might pray well for one another. To learn more about LifeGroups,  click here!
